Refund Policy

We want you to feel that your money was well spent. If you don't, we want to make it right. This policy explains the specific scenarios and how we handle them.

The Satyam Promise

If your first paid reading doesn't feel personally accurate to you, reply to your welcome email with the single word refund within 24 hours. We refund 90% instantly. The 10% covers Razorpay's non-refundable processing fee. No follow-up questions, no salvage attempts, no friction.

This applies to your first transaction only and is offered in good faith. After your first transaction the standard refund schedule below applies.

2. How to request a refund

  1. Email support@muhurta.app from the same email address as your account.
  2. Use subject line Refund request — <your transaction ID>.
  3. Briefly explain the reason. For Satyam Promise, the word "refund" alone is enough.
  4. We respond within 24 hours (usually same day) confirming the refund or asking one clarifying question.
  5. Razorpay processes the refund to your original payment method within 5-7 business days.

3. What we don't refund

  • Readings you bought, used, and only later wished you hadn't
  • Differences of astrological opinion (e.g., "another astrologer said something different")
  • Outcomes you attribute to or against the reading (we provide windows, not promises)
  • Subscription months you forgot to cancel — we send reminders on day 5 and day 6 of the trial
  • Charges older than 90 days unless we made a billing error

4. Razorpay processing fee

The 10% deduction in the Satyam Promise corresponds to Razorpay's non-refundable transaction fee that we have to absorb regardless of refund. We chose to be transparent about this rather than hide it in the price. For mid-year annual cancellations the 10% deduction works the same way.

5. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We will resolve any legitimate complaint faster than the bank can. Unjustified chargebacks (where we have already refunded or where service was delivered as agreed) may result in account suspension.

6. Force majeure

Where service is disrupted by events outside our reasonable control (large-scale internet outage, government action, natural disaster), we credit affected days but do not pay cash refunds. Where disruption exceeds 7 consecutive days, full refund is available on request.
