Muhurta (the "Service") is operated by House of Banarasi, a sole-proprietorship registered in India. Contact: founder@muhurta.app. References to "we", "us", "our" mean Muhurta. References to "you", "your" mean the person using the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Muhurta you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.
Muhurta computes Vedic astrological data from your birth details and presents the output in natural language. The Service is provided for reflection, planning, and decision support. It is not:
Vedic astrology is a 3,000-year-old framework with passionate practitioners and sceptics. We respect the tradition; we don't claim it is "scientific" in the sense modern science uses that word. Your willingness to engage with the readings is your own.
All prices are in Indian Rupees and inclusive of GST where applicable. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice for existing subscribers; new pricing applies to new subscribers immediately.
You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account or by emailing support@muhurta.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then. We don't pro-rate mid-cycle cancellations.
For your first paid transaction only, the Satyam Promise applies. If your first reading doesn't feel personally accurate, reply to your welcome email with the single word refund within 24 hours of the charge. We refund 90% instantly. The 10% covers Razorpay's non-refundable fee.

Security researchers acting in good faith — please email security@muhurta.app first. We welcome responsible disclosure and respond within 5 business days.
Muhurta's code, design, calibration prompts, and compiled prose outputs are owned by House of Banarasi. The astrological tradition itself is, of course, public heritage. You retain rights to your own birth data.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your own reflection. You may share your individual readings on social media (including the share-card feature). You may not republish our content at scale or for commercial use without written permission.
The natural-language portion of your reading is generated by Anthropic's Claude model, calibrated by a Jyotishi-authored prompt and constrained by computed astrological data. AI can occasionally produce incorrect or oddly-phrased output. If you receive a reading that seems wrong, please report it via support@muhurta.app — we treat these reports seriously and refine the prompt accordingly.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Muhurta and House of Banarasi are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) ₹2,000 or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
This means: if a reading suggests a window and your decision doesn't go well, that's not our liability. If our service is down for a day, we'll credit your account proportionally — we won't reimburse you for a missed business opportunity.
We aim for 99.5% uptime but make no formal SLA guarantee. If service is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours within a billing period, we credit a proportional refund to your account on request.
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be emailed to active subscribers 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. If we terminate without cause, we refund any prepaid balance pro-rata. If we terminate for material breach (fraud, abuse, security violations), no refund is owed.
These terms are governed by Indian law. Disputes will first attempt amicable resolution via email or video call. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
